Want to get in Grant Park as quickly as possible? To speed up entry, leave your bags at home, and take advantage of our No Bag Express Lanes. Please check the list of permitted items in advance or at the gate, listen for the audio announcements and dispose of any item that is not allowed inside the festival.

BAG POLICY: All bags will be searched before entry.

  • Bags will be restricted to small purses, totes and drawstring bags only. Bag size may not exceed 14” x 11” x 5” (35cm x 28cm x 12cm), or 30 linear inches (75cm) in total, and must have no more than one singular pocket or opening. Backpacks and bags with multiple pockets are prohibited. Hydration packs are allowed but must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than two pockets in addition to the one holding the water reservoir.

PRO-TIP: While you can’t bring any liquids into the event, we do suggest you have some water with you while you wait in line to enter and bring an EMPTY refillable water bottle to fill at our free water filling stations. We’ve added even more filling stations this year to keep you hydrated and rocking out!

Do not leave your items unattended. Lockers are available for rent just south of the main entrance off Ida B Wells. Lost and Found is located at Guest Services at Columbus and Ida B Wells, and you can search for missing items here.

All ticketholders are allowed to enter the festival 3 times per day after initial entry. You must be scanned upon exit at the gate in order to re-enter that same day. Ticketholders and their belongings will be searched upon entry and every re-entry to the park.

VIEW PROHIBITED ITEMS

Here are three easy ways to look out for yourself and those around you:

  1. Watch out for your neighbors – if someone around you looks like they need help, check in with them. If someone is getting unruly, alert the nearest staff member. Keep an eye on your belongings.
  2. Be considerate – this is a shared space and we want everyone to enjoy themselves. Keep the vibes chill and your hands to yourself.
  3. Use the buddy system – the Main Guest Services Tent at Ida B Wells and Columbus is the designated meeting point for lost or separated people. If one of your friends is in trouble, please alert festival staff – they will assist you, no questions asked.

Safety first! Here are some helpful tips on how to prepare for the fest:

  • Have Emergency Contact info on your person and your phone lock screen in case emergency personnel need to know (PRO-TIP: Make sure to register your wristband where you will be asked to fill out an Emergency Contact).
  • Remember to stay hydrated and keep cool by visiting our Water Refill Stations for free, cool, filtered water and cooling stations placed all around the venue. Remember to bring your own, EMPTY water bottle to Lolla to reduce plastic waste and eat regularly at Chow Town or a Lolla Bodega.
  • Protect yourself from the sun – take breaks and find shade. Sunscreen lotion, hats, and sunglasses are key. Forget your sunscreen? Head to a Lolla Bodega to purchase some. You can also catch some shade on our cooling buses by the Medical Tents on Balbo and Jackson.
  • Bring hearing protection – we get loud (PRO-TIP: If you forget your ear plugs, stop by Guest Services to grab a pair).
  • Keep yourself and your belongings safe – be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye on your personal items at all times. If you find something OR lose something, head to lolla.com/lostfound or Guest Services for our Lost & Found. Keep your cell phone and wallet close – the Chicago Police Department will be on the lookout for cell phone theft.
  • Bring a list of allergies and medications you take in case of medical emergency.
  • Dress for the weather – we’re constantly monitoring the weather. Keep an eye on the radar before heading to Grant Park so you can dress accordingly (rain boots, ponchos, etc). Forget your poncho? Head to a Lolla Bodega to purchase one.
  • Need help? Lost? Injured? Witness criminal activity? Contact any uniformed staff member or call 9-1-1 and give the letter/number on the pole nearest your location. Pole Markers attached to the light poles around Grant Park will help first-responders locate you quickly.

Sustainability

Lollapalooza, a 2017 Illinois Sustainability Award recipient, is committed to sustainable festival practices in the field, behind the scenes and through the preservation of the ever-beautiful Grant Park. This commitment is integrated into every area of the park, from recycling and composting, to eco-friendly service items at Chow Town, and Hydration Stations that provide patrons free, filtered water, diverting thousands of plastic bottles from the landfill.

We invite attendees to join our sustainability efforts to reduce the festival’s impact on the environment by participating in recycling initiatives such as the Rock and Recycle Program where fans can earn a commemorative Lollapalooza t-shirt and enter for chance to win a bike from Heritage Bicycles or two 4-Day GA Tickets to Lollapalooza 2020, diverting waste from going into the landfill by composting your food waste and other compostables, refilling your EMPTY water bottles to reduce plastic waste and taking eco-friendly transportation to the festival.
