Please check the list of permitted items in advance or at the gate, listen for the audio announcements and dispose of any item that is not allowed inside the festival.
BAG POLICY: All bags will be searched before entry.
- Bags will be restricted to small purses, totes and drawstring bags only. Bag size may not exceed 14” x 11” x 5” (35cm x 28cm x 12cm), or 30 linear inches (75cm) in total, and must have no more than one singular pocket or opening. Backpacks and bags with multiple pockets are prohibited. Hydration packs are allowed but must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than two pockets in addition to the one holding the water reservoir.
Do not leave your items unattended. Lockers are available for rent just south of the main entrance off Congress. Lost and Found is located at Guest Services at Columbus and Congress, and you can search for missing items here.
All ticketholders are allowed to re-enter the festival 3 times per day after initial entry. You must be scanned upon exit at the gate in order to re-enter that same day. Ticketholders and their belongings will be searched upon entry and every re-entry to the park.
Safety first! Here are some helpful tips on how to prepare for the fest:
- Have Emergency Contact info on your person and your phone lock screen in case emergency personnel need to know who to contact (PRO-TIP: Make sure to register your wristband where you will be asked to fill out an Emergency Contact).
- Remember to stay hydrated (visit our CamelBak Hydration Stations for free, cool, filtered water) and eat regularly at Chow Town or a Lolla Bodega.
- Protect yourself from the sun – take breaks and find shade. Sunscreen lotion, hats, and sunglasses are key. Forget your sunscreen? Head to a Lolla Bodega to purchase some. You can also catch some shade on our cooling buses by the Medical Tents on Balbo and Jackson, or enjoy the breeze from one of our cooling stations scattered around the park.
- Bring hearing protection – we get loud (PRO-TIP: If you forget your ear plugs, stop by Guest Services to grab a pair).
- Keep yourself and your belongings safe – be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye on your personal items at all times. If you find something OR lose something, head to lolla.com/lostfound or Guest Services for our Lost & Found. Keep your cell phone and wallet close – the Chicago Police Department will be on the lookout for cell phone theft.
- Bring a list of allergies and medications you take in case of medical emergency.
- Dress for the weather – we’re constantly monitoring the weather. Keep an eye on the radar before heading to Grant Park so you can dress accordingly (rain boots, ponchos, etc). Forget your poncho? Head to a Lolla Bodega to purchase one.
- Need help? Lost? Injured? Witness criminal activity? Contact any uniformed staff member or call 9-1-1 and give the letter/number on the pole nearest your location. Pole Markers attached to the light poles around Grant Park will help first-responders locate you quickly.

Lollapalooza was the first-ever festival to blend art and activism in 1991, and Lolla Cares continues today as an integral part of the four-day event. We choose non-profit organizations that are focused on raising awareness for a variety of causes, including art, the environment, and those committed to improving the quality of life for their community and future generations. We invite all fans to get involved, so swing by Lolla Cares and join the conversation.
Lollapalooza, a 2017 Illinois Sustainability Award recipient, is committed to sustainable festival practices in the field, behind the scenes and through the preservation of the ever-beautiful Grant Park. This commitment is integrated into every area of the park, from recycling and composting, to eco-friendly service items at Chow Town, and CamelBak Hydration Stations that provide patrons free, filtered water, diverting thousands of plastic bottles from the landfill.
We invite attendees to join our sustainability efforts by participating in the Rock & Recycle Program, where fans are rewarded for filling one bag of recyclables from the festival grounds with a commemorative Lollapalooza Festival t-shirt. Each participant also earns a chance to win a bike from Heritage Bicycles, two 4-Day GA Tickets to Lollapalooza 2019, and more!
Kids 10 and under rock for free at Lolla. Kidzapalooza presented by Lifeway Kefir is the family-friendly festival within the festival, with activities for parents and kids alike! Don’t forget to experience Collaboraction’s Dome of Dance and new Kidza Theatre with interactive plays throughout the day!
Once you’re in the park visit a Tag-a-Kid kiosk at Kidzapalooza or at the Main Info Tent at Columbus and Congress where parents can register their kids with the festival and receive an RFID wristband. If a child gets lost, we have a reliable and fast way to reunite them with their parent. If you’re in need of a private place to change a diaper or for breastfeeding, visit the Family Services tent at the entrance to Kidzapalooza.
