21 Savage - Bio
Multiplatinum-certified rapper, XXL Freshman, and visionary 21 Savage is the leading voice of hip-hop and remains downright unstoppable. He is one of the most sought out features in recent hip hop history having been on songs with Drake, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, T.I., Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, and more. Recently, he teamed up with Post Malone for the platinum-certified mega-smash "rockstar," achieving his first Billboard Hot 100 #1 in the process.
Tearing through the game with tenacity, 21 Savage carved his own path to the top of 21st century hip-hop last year. Following a series of 2015 fan favorite mixtapes such as The Slaughter Tape and Slaughter King, he sent shockwaves through rap with the Savage Mode collaborative EP alongside super producer Metro Boomin'. Not only did the project earn an RIAA gold certification, but it spawned the double-platinum "X" [feat. Future] and platinum "No Heart."
In between supporting Young Thug on tour and selling out his own headliner, Savage uncorked the platinum "Red Opps." He changed the game with the Offset-assisted joint project, Without Warning, featuring stand out singles "Ghostface Killers" and "Rap Saved Me."
Meanwhile, his full- length debut, Issa Album, stands out as one of the year's biggest success stories. It clinched #2 on the Billboard Top 200 upon arrival, moving over 77,000 copies first week. It also went #1 on the Apple Music Hip-Hop/Rap Chart. The double-platinum lead single "Bank Account" peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. To date, Spotify streams exceed 216 million and YouTube/VEVO views surpass 64 million-plus.
The singles success was propelled when he appeared on NBC Universal's The Ellen DeGeneres Show to announce the launch of his national financial literacy campaign.
The "21 Savage Bank Account" campaign in partnership with nonprofit organization Get Schooled promises 21 teenagers $1,000 to start their own bank accounts and take on financial literacy. His Leading By Example Foundation grants a total of $21K in scholarship encouraging teens to 'get the knowledge to pay for college.'
Savage's evolution into a pop culture icon includes a heavy presence in the fashion world, starring in the 2017 fall collection campaign for Alexander Wang alongside Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid. He has also been featured in Vogue, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Fader, and Exit, while gracing the covers of XXL and SSENSE. The self-proclaimed 'Saint Laurent Don' can be seen attending fashion weeks, sitting front row at Ovadia & Sons' NYFW show, as well as wearing and watching Tom Ford's F/W 18 shows at NYFW.
