The Green Commitment at Lollapalooza

“When we make the effort to end global warming, we are in effect saving the world. There is not a single square foot of land that hasn't been adversely affected. Please join us in this noble and urgent cause. It is everyone's responsibility to return the world to her original health and beauty.”

The Festival Eco-Spirit and You

Love the Music. Love the Park. Love the Planet. Join us by doing your part for the environment in all phases of the festival experience and in your daily life throughout the year. There’s simple steps you can take that will add up to a huge impact. Here’s some ideas. How will you get to the Festival? See the transportation and planning section of this site to review travel options such as biking in, taking public transportation, carpooling, etc. Consider buying carbon offsets ($5) either as part of the ticket buying process or visit Green Street to purchase at the Festival. Reduce the number of water bottles generated by refilling from free water fountains at the park. Visit Green Street and learn more about greening your daily life and also check out the Green Street art market, with a variety of eco-friendly items to choose from. This election year more than ever, we need to choose political leaders that stand for the environment and have the power to take positive actions for our generation and generations to come. Visit Rock the Vote’s tent in Green Street to register to vote and let your voice be heard on election day.

Recycle. While at the Festival, do your part to help recycle and help us reduce what ends up as landfill. Throw your recyclables and trash in the right containers. Throughout the park you'll find recycling containers and we have a team of volunteers devoted to the cause. Also, check out the Recycling Center at Green Street , where you can earn special Lolla swag.

Don’t forget cigarette butts are litter, too, and have a very real negative impact on the environment. Bring a personal ashtray and think twice before tossing that butt onto the park grounds.

Get Down to Green Street

Stroll through Green Street and learn simple yet effective ways to live a life more green. This beautiful and shady spot shows what the festival is doing to minimize our environmental impact and also features real-life examples of how we can all make earth-friendlier choices every day.

Energy Credits You can Buy!

Make a difference right now. We've partnered with Green Mountain Energy to buy energy credits. When you buy your tickets, look for the option to pay $5 and get yourself a BeGreen Fan Tag. It's worth 682 pounds of CO2 or about 1700 airline miles. Check back for other options for reducing your carbon footprint.
