Status: offline 		So who are some artists that you are surprised haven't been at Lolla since the reincarnation? I'm talking about who truly fit the mold (as loose as it is) of a Lolla band. Here are some of my thoughts:

311
Dredg
Pinback
Q-Tip/Tribe
Naked Raygun
Public Enemy
Butthole Surfers
Zero 7.

Those are just a few I can think of off hand. I'm sure you have others.

That said, Foo Fighters never headlining has been surprising, though not undesired.

I think I speak for a lot of folks when I say it's odd that some of Chicago's best known rock bands haven't played Chicagopalooza.  I'm thinking particularly about Smashing Pumpkins (or what is left of them), Local H, and Urge Overkill.  I also think Metric, Franz Ferdinand, Phoenix, and Oasis are long overdue.

I'll agree with that.  I think that having the booking organization in Austin, TX doesn't help.  I'm thinking to 2008 when there were several bands from Austin that no one had heard of (including the band of kids, We Go To 11, that got a regular stage slot).

I'm not going to bother digging it up but I remember C3 saying in one of DeRo's ridonkulously biased interviews that they have an office in Chicago now.

Edit:  Also.  Keep in mind that there are quite a few Chicago acts that actually have played too.  Wilco, Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Andrew Bird, Rise Against come to mind off the top of my head.

Don't rule out the Oasis reunion tour.  You just have to wait for their bank account to dry up.
