Richard Kelly has zero potential, as proven by the atrocity that is the director's cut of Donnie Darko.

Yeah, I've avoided seeing that.

That's awesome! I never thought about LEED-certified movie theaters. They must cut energy usage in crazy ways since I assume projecting movies sucks a lot of energy.*

you're not really a nerd unless you see LEED and think low energy electron diffraction.

One of the strangest, most transgressive horror films I have ever seen. It played out like some bizzarro retelling of Straw Dogs.

It definitely gets a recommendation from me, but be aware: it's best very off-kilter.

(Also: fwiw, the English title of the film is The Ordeal, but that's not a direct translation of the word "Calvaire." Calvaire actually refers to the journey that one must take, carrying one's own cross, on the way to be crucified.)

About to put on one of my favorite movies of all time:

This is a film that needs to be watched in complete darkness.

So good. I didn't appreciate it as much as I should have the first two times, but every time since has been different.

That might be the best movie I've seen in theaters. I remember seeing it on a complete whim, not knowing anything about the plot. I enjoyed this one sooooo much more than There Will Be Blood

Amysue and I saw Paranormal Activity last night and loved it.  It moved slowly but I think they did a good job of "showing" stuff as well as leaving some stuff to the imagination throughout the film.  I was honestly a little unsettled when I left the theater.

I looove both those movies.

Men Who Stare At Goats was very strange. At times it's pretty damn funny, but it isn't that long. IMO, it is pretty well cast and the performances are pretty good. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't quite as good as i expected, or as it could've been.

On a related note, I saw previews for The Road before the movie last night.  Not at all what either of us were expecting.  Could be really good.  It's hard to go wrong with Aragorn and the dude who wrote No Country.

Haha... Saw VI isn't even going to make what the previous Saws made opening weekend.

I'm getting sick of all the crappy horror movies... And I still haven't seen Paranormal Actvity, which is driving me crazy. Maybe I'll finally see it tonight... If not, I have an urge to watch Rebel Without a Cause

watched "Zodiac" last night.  How they make a movie about a serial killer so boring and with nothing going on is beyond me.  It was 30 minutes of movie squished into  2 hours and 36 minutes.  Last hour and half is totally a waste of time.   And why do people like Robert Downey Jr?  He has to be the worst actor ever.   And he plays the same part in every movie.   On drugs and drunk.

That might be because "There will be blood" might be the most boring movie ever made.

Best movie I ever saw in the theaters was either "Amelie" or "Pulp Fiction"
