Use this thread to speculate about aftershows you would like to see happen, aftershows you think will happen, and aftershows that will never happen in a million years. Post any aftershows you know about in this thread and I will add them to the 2nd post.

Aftershow FAQ
Q: What qualifies as an aftershow?
A: For the purposes of this thread, we will define any major show taking place in Chicago between August 6th and 9th as an aftershow.

Q: What qualifies as an "official" aftershow?
A: Last year, C3 Presents added a new feature to Lollapalooza: aftershows. Roughly 20 Lollapalooza artists played "official" aftershows which took place in venues throughout Chicago.

Q: Do I get into "official" aftershows for free if I have a Lolla bracelet?
A: Nope.

Q: What are the start times for "official" aftershows?
A: Generally, they'll start at about 10:15-10:30. Sometimes they start earlier or later depending on the number of opening acts and the doors time.

Q: When are the "official" aftershows announced?
A: Last year, the initial announcement was the same day as the release of the schedule, June 17th. Additional aftershows were added in the time leading up to Lollapalooza.

Q: Do Lollapalooza bands ever play "unofficial" aftershows?
A: Yes. Last year, Serena Ryder and Butch Walker both played unofficial aftershows.

Q: When can I expect tickets to go on sale for aftershows?
A: It varies, but you should start keeping an eye on things around early to mid-June.

Q: What age restrictions can I expect for aftershows?
A: Most of them will be 18+ or 21+, depending on the venue. Because of the late start time, very few are all-ages shows.

Q: How much will tickets run me?
A: It depends on the band. It will cost you about the same amount that it would cost to see the band on any other night.

Since the announcement of the Dan Deacon/No Age/Deerhunter round robin tour this summer (via), I've been thinking that we might see that aftershow, since all three are on the lineup.

Were the aftershows grouped that logically last year?  I seem to remember them being somewhat random groupings of acts.  (Although in pleasing combinations)

i still think that Ra-Ra-Riot -> Vampire Weekend is an extremely likely aftershow..
it will probably at the house of blues, because this will sell out..
..and probably Saturday night, since both bands are showing Sunday..

the lead singers for these two bands were roomates for a while, and have done a number of collaboration efforts..
seems like of like a Manchester Orchestra -> Brand New situation from last year..

I seem to recall most shows being around $15-20, maybe a little higher for Bloc Party, BSS, etc.  You'd be well advised to buy tickets in advance to any you are interested in, they will sell out, especially with the high potential for many schedule conflicts this year.

Also, keep in mind, I think almost all of the shows were 21+, since they all start after 10 and run til 2 AM.

Great idea, Catalyst!  Thanks for organizing this.  I think I'll pin it.

I would go to that so hard, especially since Deerhunter are likely to conflict with Lou Reed.

I still think it's likely that the Decemberists play an aftershow (which would have to be Thursday or Friday) based on the fact that they are playing their new album in its entirety on the current tour.  It's unfeasible to do this at Lolla and they don't otherwise have a Chicago date so it'd be the only way to play it in the area.

I disagree, and do think that they will play Hazards of Love at Lollapalooza.

Yeah I'm under 21 and went to both of these shows plus Gogol Bordello. So the House of Blues and Metro are 18+ but most of the others were 21+ I think. I just hope the aftershows that solve my conflicts are at the 18+ venues again this year. The aftershows really helped my fest decision making last year and they were all amazing.
