We've already picked two of the bands slated to be the headliners for ACL 2007 (before White Stripes cancelled).  Bob Dylan seems unlikely for this group, but maybe Arcade Fire or the Killers will make it 3.

Maybe someone should post last year's schedule. I don't want to nominate/vote for someone who has already been on our fake bill. Let's get some new blood.

I forgot how ridiculous the Mindfield became last year.

just as a side note maybe...when you put the results up...could you group them together...

like headliner #1 followed by lead-in for headliner #1

it just makes it easier to follow...at least for me

I'm going to assume that, once stages are determined for the headliners, Ross will be posting results as a schedcule grid like AxYoung did last year.  For now, we don't know which day/stage to place the acts.

I'm having a really hard time figuring out the most logical way to schedule the headliners.  They're diverse, but there also seems to be a great deal of overlap in fanbase/style/influences amongst all of them.  I would imagine White Stripes and Cure would be the biggest draws of the four, but I could really see it going either way.

Just a reminder-- Ross said he'll be setting up the headliner scheduling poll today at noon.  He'll also be accepting nominations for Cure's lead-in band (the one who plays the side stage-- either Myspace or Playstation stage-- around 7:30pm).  Start thinking of who would be a nice lead-in for Robert Smith and crew.

I think OutKast would have the biggest draw due to the length of time since they have played live shows.
I agree with you on The White Stripes.
In my opinion OutKast and White Stripes are the big two.

I like the way this is turning out so far.  The diversity is nicely ballanced in both time slots so far:

Bjork - OutKast - The White Stripes - The Cure

Animal Collective - Justice - Dinosaur Jr. - (Of Montreal or The Decemberists)

I think this creates an environment where a lot of different types of people can coexist at the same show and a lot of choices so you're not watching a bunch of acts that sound just like each other, unless you want to.

I think all nine of these bands are very distinctive... which of these two are the most alike? I dont even know... maybe animal collective and of montreal?

With so many diverse bands, I wonder if that would make Coldplay a tolerable unopposed headliner.

I use to think that U2 was too big for Lollapalooza.  But not after last year's three day sell out.
