Just curious to see what the rest of you think of their countdown.

Gotta love that Millie Jackson cover. But I don't get why Appetite for Destruction comes after The Sensuous Black Woman Meets the Sensuous Black Man. Full-frontal nudity vs. animation...?

I would have replaced vile with shocking.  I don't think all of those are really "vile."

They may not all be vile but most of them are pretty nasty

That Scorpions record should have definitely be number one. Also, this just reminded me of how much the Dwarves rule.

I agree with the Jist; Anarchy's cover is the most vile.  And don't say, "yada yada yada... the beauty of birth....."  Just because I appreciate it doesn't mean I want to see it.

Pretty interesting. A lot of those seem like jokes.

Where's Smell the Glove?

I want you to hear Robert Mitchum sings calypso - it's positively savage!

Here's another site of bad album covers: http://www.zonicweb.net/mobac.htm

It starts with this gem:

I'm not sure how Electric Ladyland cover is vile at all. I'd say it's pretty pleasant to look at. I guess this guy just really hates naked ladies.

Electric Ladyland was from 1968, that cover was not ready for the public. That wouldn't even fly now.

I'm surprised that Houses of the Holy by Led Zeppelin wasn't there as well.

Whoever compiled this list, is a bit of a prude. Cannibal Corpse is vile, but Electric Ladyland, Sticky Fingers? I walk around living the Stones album cover when I opt to wear the Parasucos.

It wouldn't fly, but "vile" is not the right adjective for that. It would be more like "taboo" or "risque." When I think of the word vile, I think of exploded skulls, vomit, shitting on others' chests.

Agreed, I'd never consider merely "naughty" to be equivalent to "vile" either.
