Hilariously bad and amateurish.

LOL. I'm sure it wasn't that horrible. It's just a pet peeve of mine because the VAST majority of hip hop acts I've seen live have spent way too much time doing snippets of other people's songs or little sample of their own songs, and I've always left feeling cheated.

Like I said, though, the Roots set has been awesome for the most part.

I have been watching and listening to Lily Allen and the Roots over a dial up line. They were definatley censoring what Lily Allen was saying in between songs. When there are technical problems, the picture will stop and sometimes the word playlist above the buttons on the video screen will change to buffering. During Lily Allen my picture would keep playing fine and the sound was gone. The sound while the Roots were talking in between songs just cut out for the first time.

And if any of you are unable to watch, I had the same problem when I tried to watch Coachella earlier this year. And I was sure I had the current version of window's media player.  Ended up clicking on the "video problems" link and had to download an active x control. Worked fine after that.

Ugh, I don't want to get into this again, but why the hell would they be "censoring" Lily Allen saying stuff along the lines of "I'm so happy to be in Tennessee, I've always wanted to....(cuts out here)."

And why would they be "censoring" her telling jokes about asshole ex-boyfriends and laughing and smiling the whole time?

Like I said, my best guess is that because of some fine print in a contract somewhere which states that AT&T will only be broadcasting their music and not their banter.  Yeah, I don't get it either.

It's real simple. Did you read my entire post? When there are technical difficulties the picture will temporarily stop and or the word buffering will appear. The picture played fine during Lily Allen and there was no sound. Why they would be censoring Lily Allen I have no idea.

You have no idea what could come after "I've always wanted to..."

ClearChannel---To say that there's no possible way they could have technical difficulties that only involve audio cutting out and not the video going out is absolutely absurd.

And, if you'd read the entire thread, you'd see that at times earlier in the day the sound was cutting out during random times during songs and then coming right back during Kings of Leon's set and part of Tom Morello's. At the same time, Morello's entire rant about Bush was left alone. When he swore, it was left alone.

If you think "censoring" involves cutting out innocent stories while allowing politically controversial comments and swear words, you have a different idea of the word than I do. In my mind, the definition of that word, is, indeed "real simple."

Carl---You may be right about that part. It's odd that it hasn't cut out at all for the Roots and that it cut out parts of Morello's speeches but wasn't cutting out it out during the first 75% of his set, though. Just a weird situation all together. But, I wouldn't refer to cutting out what Lily Allen says at her request or Bonnaroo's request as "censoring." That's all.

Lol. Excellent point. I was joking with someone else that she may have broken completely away from that seemingly innocent sentence and said something along the lines of "I've always wanted to......gang bang an entire festival crowd".

Seems unlikely though

I think she said, "I've always wanted to...cause heads to explode on a message board during a discussion re: technical difficulties/censorship."  That girl's a badass, I tell ya.

I'm loving this Roots set.
