The perfect time to share our favorite memories, and in the process, illustrate how Lollapalooza went from the a dirty, grungy traveling festival to a three-day, stand-alone pop-tastic extravaganza.

It’s not a very scientific method that I follow, but in a sea of band names that I don’t recognize, I try to grasp onto something, anything that allows me a start into making some tough decisions.

This year is a bit different and most of my picks are in the middle of the lineup. I’d hold on exiting for the Chicago watering holes until after the My Morning Jacket set and I’d kill the time by taking in some Cee Lo and/or The Cars.

Why should you see Lissie’s set at Lolla? Because it would be like chilling out and taking shots with your high school pal who is also the most talented person in the world.

This year marks Lollapalooza’s 20th anniversary which means, if my math is correct, that 2006′s edition was their 15th anniversary. Which meant the one and only year I was able to attend Chicago’s big Summer throwdown, it was still a sort-of round though mostly pointy number.
