Parkways Foundation & Lollapalooza Make Sweet Music

Did you know that every ticket purchased to Lollapalooza helps enhance parks all across Chicago? That’s right! To date, Lollapalooza has contributed over $5 million to Parkways Foundation, the philanthropic partner of the Chicago Park District and beneficiary of the festival. Parkways is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to working with the Chicago Park District in a true public/private partnership.
All Lollapalooza funds directly impact Chicago’s parks and neighborhoods, and support Parkways’ mission of enriching communities through historic preservation, environmental initiatives, capital projects and youth/family programs. Projects made possible in large part by this partnership include the Inferno Mobile Recording Studio, a program providing the opportunity to write and record original poetry and music; a community garden grant program; a signature playground in Washington Park that is accessible to children of all abilities; a new state of the art soccer field in McKinley Park; and the Buckingham Fountain Restoration project.
Want to help make Chicago’s public spaces even more beautiful? Learn more about Parkways Foundation and, of course, buy your 2010 Lolla ticket!
