A native of Los Angeles, Charlie Hirsch has always been drawn to creativity. His father made his living as a writer and producer for television and his sister had a brief stint as a professional actress. Charlie, however, wanted to add his love of music to the mix. He began to take guitar lessons and the age of 12 and was instantly hooked, continuing his training all through his formidable years. However, he decided that the best thing for him was to get out of the hustle and bustle and bright lights of LA and see what the rest of the country had to offer. That took him to the University of Kansas, where he received a BA in theatre, all the while continuing his love affair with music, albeit in a very private way. Upon his return home, he spent his first decade out of college trying to forge a career as a professional actor himself. After numerous commercials and small parts in both television (The Office) and film (Prom Night, The Lincoln Lawyer), Charlie once again got the urge to leave his hometown and make music in his life elsewhere. He has found that home in the city of Chicago, where he's lived since late 2010. In the spring of 2011, he was approached about writing some original music for the independent film Least Among Saints. The success of that project led him to write and co-produce his debut album, New Again, recorded in Chicago and released in the fall of 2013.
