Bomba Estéreo




Bomba Estéreo was formed as a project lead by visual artist Simón Mejía, featuring different musicians, DJs and artists. In 2006, Bomba Estéreo released their first album, Vol.1™, containing a couple of features by female MC, Li Saumet, singing over some of the songs. This collaboration gave birth to this new musical relationship between Li and Simón.

In 2008, with Li Saumet on board as the lead singer, Julian Salazar on guitars and synths, Kike Egurrola on drums and Simón on bass, machines and musical direction, Bomba Estéreo released their second album “Estalla” / “Blow Up,” which lead the band to touring the world as one of the breaking new independent live acts. The album was pressed in physical format in Colombia, United States, Mexico, Argentina and Spain, and is available digitally Worldwide.

In 2012, Bomba Estéreo released their third album, called “Elegancia Tropical,” acclaimed by fans, critics and press all around the world. This album lead Bomba Estéreo to their first Latin GRAMMY nomination as “Best Alternative Album,” on 2013 and was the chosen by the editors of iTunes Latin America as “Best New Album of 2012,” also leading the sales on digital and physical music stores. The album was pressed in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Japan, and has received great reviews by important media such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, BBC, Rolling Stone, Spin, NME, The Guardian and ABC News, among many others.

The band is currently recording their 4th album that will be released in October 2014.
